Product Review: Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor

The liquid lipstick comes in a clear, plastic tube and has around 5.9ml of product inside. I like that the color of the tube is a pretty accurate shade of the lipstick inside. It has a doe foot applicator which helps apply the product evenly on your lips. For those of you who don't like fragrance in your makeup then this liquid lipstick is not for you. It has a faint, vanilla-like fragrance which is similar with NYX's lip creams. It's 575php or roughly 11$ which I think is pretty pricey for a drugstore brand. The shades I bought are Seduction and Devotion. Seduction is the nude color while Devotion is the pinky-nude shade. Well does it deserve its price? Here's my first impression review of the product (Warning, large photos ahead).

In the photo above, I have applied Seduction on my lips at around 12:56pm. By comparing it with the photo of my bare lips, you can tell how pigmented the lipstick is. I have no trouble applying it evenly on my lips and I like its faint, sweet fragrance. It does not feel sticky, or drying upon application unlike some matte lipsticks I've used before (Ehem, Wet n Wild and MAC). It feels very light on my lips like I'm not wearing any lipstick at all. The feel on my lips reminds me of Nyx's lip creams. Even though it is labeled as a Matte Lipcolor, you can see that upon application, it does not look matte.

I went out and did my normal routine and around 2:14pm, I decided to check how the lipstick is doing. And as you can see, it has dried into a matte finish. Since I was sweating a lot that day, I have also been drinking a lot of water before I took that photo. And as you can see it seems like the lipstick held its place on my lips. Also, I like the way it looks once it has dried to its matte finish.

Around 5:47pm I took another photo to check how the lipstick is holding up. I have eaten and was drinking a lot but it still looked pretty good upon checking.

I also tested Devotion on a different day and here is what it looked like on my lips upon application.

Similar with Seduction, it has a similar glossy finish upon application. Scent, texture and feel of the lipstick is also similar with Seduction. It applied evenly and was not patchy at all.

After 5hours, I checked the lipstick and noticed that unlike Seduction, Devotion has bled on my lips. It was almost gone but left a pinkish stain on my lips. It has also settled on the lines of my lips. But like I mentioned before, my lips do not feel like a desert after wearing this matte lipstick for hours.

Note: A little technique I discovered, if you blot your lips right after application, you'll get the matte finish you want.

So here's my verdict for this liquid lipstick:

Packaging: 5/5
Product quality: 4/5
(-1 for having an initial glossy finish but excellent nondrying formula)
Lasting powers: 4/5
(I really love Seduction but Devotion just does not last as long on my lips)
Pigmentation: 5/5
Price: 3/5
Overall rating: 4.2/5

Will I repurchase? I will repurchase Seduction and maybe try out another shade.
