Fortnight Plays Hide and Seek for Fall

Autumn isn’t the best time to undo the top button on your blouse and start flirting with the underwear-as-outerwear concept, regardless of what some ahem mall brands would have you believe. But that doesn’t mean it’s time to take cover under voluminous infinity scarves, either.

Canada’s Fortnight Lingerie is encouraging a subtler way to add some sexy style to your office wear this fall. Its new AW 2016 collection features the deep plunge Ruby bralette (above) trimmed with floral lace that is meant to peek, ever so discreetly, above your neckline.

The ‘Hide and Seek’ fall range from Fortnight is all about subtle details that hint at what’s underneath, from peekaboo trims to semi-sheer stretch fabrics and a polka-dot pattern in the Ara range that teases the imagination.

“You could say we’re playing hide-and-seek with hemlines in this collection,” brand manager Olivia De Vellis told Lingerie Talk.

This collection also places renewed emphasis on textures, as Fortnight beefs up its catalogue styles with new fabrics and soft French laces that boast outstanding stretch recovery. The brand’s bodysuits have also been upgraded with an elastic-free finish that provides a seamless look.

For fall, the brand’s colour palette has been updated to include seasonal hues of rose, sapphire and burgundy to go along with its popular black, grey and ivory hues.

Once a local Toronto favourite admired for its contemporary approach to classic high-waisted undies and longline bras, Fortnight enters its 7th year in business as Canada’s sexiest export not named Justin. Don’t be surprised if many of those Hollywood starlets in town for the Toronto International Film Festival go home with a little Fortnight peeking out to torment the paparazzi.
