My Mother (or how my English roots dictated my Mum) had a favorite fragrance. I can't recall many days where she didn't smell of Chanel no 5. Being aware of that, I often gave her Chanel no 5 fragrance. Moreover, if your Mum has a favorite perfume, this is always a great idea. While there are hundreds of great presents out there, a sure bet that will always delight, is a new fragrance to add to her dressing table.

WALLET 

Specifically, I remember being in grade two and making a flower vase for Mother's Day. This craft included macaroni (a personal favorite) glued to a large apple juice tin and sprayed gold. Suddenly this tin can was the most beautiful thing in the world. Thanks, Mum. I still remember my pride. Somehow she made this a gift to me. I recall, years later, I bought my Mum a beautiful wallet, something she would never have purchased herself. Because the wallet was quality, my Mum used it for years, a constant reminder of my love.

My Mother was an immigrant from England. In fact as a child I was fascinated  hearing her stories about her childhood .  British style is often made up of classic pieces. English women wear scarves a lot . Furthermore, I being the gay son who loved fashion was my Mum's fashion stylist ; in other words I went shopping with Mum on Saturdays (some of my most favorite times). In fact I remember saving money to buy my Mum the most beautiful scarf from a luxury store. A scarf unlike a dress or a coat never goes out of style.  A beautiful silk scarf will last a lifetime. Of course the best gifts for Mother's Day are those special items your Mum would never  buy herself.

When I was a kid my Mum's purse was that mystical place that you could never go into. Being sort of like "The Secret Garden" . While occasionally it would produce a dollar or hard candy it was like a hidden treasure trove .  Of course as I aged I noticed the beauty of handbags , I knew my Mum always liked nice things but seldom purchased them for herself. In fact she was always making sacrifices for the family. So being the ultimate mummies boy I decided way back, that I would always try to give my Mum a special gift . The first time I gave her a handbag  I was thrilled by how happy she was.

In conclusion darlings this wasn't the easiest post to write. Since I would give anything to have to buy a Mother's Day gift. I've chosen some great items from my partners .
