Hi everyone, hope you enjoyed our last post! This week we want to share with you a ‘highlight’ for your nails. Whether you wear Nail polish on the daily or you’re looking for something subtle, we got the product for you!
Description
One fateful day, not too long ago, we ventured into Sephora to seek cover from a rainy day. As we were browsing a blue iridescence caught our eye. We went to investigate and discovered a gem among the sea of nail polishes. Upon closer inspection, we noticed the polish was a Nailkale Illuminator by Nails Inc. Neither of us had come across such a unique colour and formula. As we tried it on our nails, this seemingly muted polish transformed and gave our nails a healthy, radiant glow.
This polish in Bright Street, as with others within the Nailkale line, is infused with kale which is claimed to deeply nourish your nails. The line also contains a patented Regenerating Complex by Nails Inc which is intended to increase keratin production, making stronger, healthier nails. As well, this colour in particular contains a slight blue iridescence that is meant to brighten nails and make the tips appear whiter. It retails for $16 at Sephora and you get 14mL/0.47 oz.
Review
This polish gives off a subtle sheen without any chunky glitter and helps to brighten your nails. We noticed our nails looking visibly healthier but whether it actually increases keratin production… we don’t know… questionable. We may not notice a healthier difference but it doesn’t strip your nails or make your nails more brittle. The illuminator is very wearable, whether you’re working at the office or just looking for an every day colour, it’s universally flattering. As well, it’s very easy to layer – you can go from sheer to a milkier shade. Along with this, it’s beginner-friendly and very forgiving – if you accidentally paint outside the nail, you won’t really notice the polish on your skin. Because the shade is fairly translucent, chipping isn’t very noticeable. It’s not extremely long-wearing and you’ll start noticing some chipping after a few days but you can reapply another coat and it’s as good as new! Otherwise, you can also let it slowly chip away and you don’t have to worry about people noticing too much – it’s the perfect lazy-girl polish.
In terms of the formula, it’s not too runny or thick and dries pretty quickly. The brush is also wide enough for even application and you can coat your nail with 2-3 strokes. Although other reviewers have noted a strong scent, we haven’t found it to be overpowering, even given that we are both sensitive to scents.
Besides the fact that we don’t really notice our nails being stronger or healthier after wear, it’s only major drawback is the price. $16 is definitely not a bargain but considering how wearable and easy it is, along with some added nail nutrients, we would still repurchase and recommend it.
If you’d like to give it a go, try to wait for a sale – Sephora has bi-annual sales which don’t offer a huge discount but a discount nonetheless. You can also try looking for value sets which can ease the strain on your bank account… or at least help you justify it.
