Oh, what a 'White' night!

Tags: plenty style lady
'Oh what a (White) Night', I sing to myself, reflecting back over the last lovely twelve hours traversing the illuminated streets and alleys of Melbourne's CBD. Sadly, the cooler weather did dampen a little of the festive atmosphere, but there was still Plenty of fun to be had and fashion to be found!

Katie looked divine in a royal blue lace skater dress and her sparkly sequinned soft jacket, or 'coatigan' as some like to call the Style. What an amazing find that was at a local op-shop this week, it's fabric contains 20% metal ... no plastic in this lady's wardrobe!

There were some pretty interesting outfits spotted in the streets. Plenty of athletic glam, with a good chunk of the population wearing runners in various shades with their jeans or skirts - so comfy, but not as much fun as a nice pair of wedges, unless you're planning on doing a lot of running.

Typical to Melbourne, there was also a fair bit of black and a lot of eclectic combinations of patterns, fabrics and styles. A stunning young lady confidently sporting a high waisted white box pleated skirt with black polka dots caught our eye.

Inspiration could be fashioned from all sorts of sights, as decadent colourful lighting and music displays also highlighted the less marketable aspects of city life - homelessness and alcohol misuse being two examples that created a shadow that fell across the coloured lights.

Towards the end of the night, Catherine had her portrait drawn by a talented artist while I snacked on popcorn and dark Lindt chocolate, and after that it was nearly 2am and time to catch some highly necessary beauty sleep!
