Travel: The magical world of Universal Studios Orlando

Ever since I was little I loved seeing new things. Even if it was a random street, in my own hometown, I was always curious to discover new nooks and crannies. Always, always, curious to discover the world. To look at new buildings with sunshine in my eyes and to – perhaps – catch a glimpse of a beautiful garden or a park hidden in the middle of urbanity.

I remember my dad always taking me in little adventures every day and explaining patiently while I bombarded him with all the questions one little kid can have about the world, the Universe, life. I didn’t get a chance to really travel and see different cities until I was a teenager, but even to this day I still wish I could take my dad, my mom, the people I love, with me wherever I go. Partly because I love sharing things I like or experiences that move me, and partly because I was always terrified to go to places alone. I still am sometimes…

When I was stuck in the office I used to dream with my eyes wide open of sandy beaches, sea shells caressed by the ocean and the lazy shade of palm trees. I used to blame it on the Buddha Bar and Cafe del Mar CDs, but no… it was much deeper than that. And yes, back then we had CDs, no Spotify or Youtube player.

I think it is absolutely vital as a designer, as an artist, as a creative, to see new things. To keep your days from getting stale and buried in routine. After all, how else are you going to find inspiration? Inspiration comes from Unexpected Places, from a disruption of the normal, and many times it comes from that inner place of fiery passion for creating something beautiful, unique, precious – just like the memories of those new places you just passed by.

That’s why I want to share with you right now a few snapshots that I took last weekend in Orlando.

We visited Universal Studios and I lost myself for a while in the magical world of Harry Potter (my favorite theme of the amusement park). If you ever get a chance to visit Universal Studios please do, because – no matter how old – you can always have a great time loosing yourself in a fun, fantasy world, like you used to when you were a kid.
