2017 was a pretty good year for me makeup-wise. I was able to try out lots of different products and share my reviews on my blog, but what products stood out as the best of the year?

Kat Von D - Saint & Sinner eyeshadow Palette
Kat Von D Saint and Sinner Eyeshadow Palette
Well, this one took me by surprise at when it first came out I wasn't even sure I wanted to buy it. I kept looking at it and thinking that I didn't need it, so put off getting it. But, in the end, I decided, what the heck, the worse case scenario was that I hated it and could return it. But as it turned out I love it. I have a full review with swatches that you can read here.
At the end of that review, I said I would need to play around with it more to discover the real beauty of the palette. Now I have and use it so much for many different looks. It is definitely one of my top go-to palettes.
Smashbox Photo Strip Eyeshadow palette
Another eyeshadow palette that took me by surprise was this one from Smashbox. Although I was not overly impressed with the packaging, the actual eyeshadows were great quality and blended beautifully. I really love this palette and use it a lot. You can find a full review with swatches here.
Huda Beauty Mauve obsessions Eyeshadow Palette
Having never used any Huda Beauty products before, I was very pleased with the quality of these shadows. The shades were very pretty and applied really nicely. Read my review and see swatches using this link.
The Brush Bar and Brush Board
I was lucky enough to have this product sent to me for evaluation and I really love it. I use it all the time to wash and dry my many makeup brushes. It works really well and you can read my full review here.

Project Beauty - Hairgurt Smoothing Yoghurt Shampoo
Technically, I didn't buy this as it was part of one of my Boxycharms, but I really loved it. It made my hair feel wonderful, but alas, I cannot find it for sale in Canada, although it can be purchased from Amazon.com Read my review here.
Alterna CC Cream 10 in 1 Hair Protector
I got this in a Sephora Beauty Insider 500 points gift, but fell in love with the product so much I purchased the full-size version. Read my review here of this and the other items in the box.
Well, there you have it, my favourite products from 2017. Now I'm looking forward to trying even more during 2018.
