Hitting Pan on Two of My Favourite Eyeshadow Palettes

There comes a time in every makeup lovers life, when you have to accept that you are coming to the end of one or more of your favorite products. I have reached that point with two of my most used eyeshadow palettes.

Kat Von D Shade & Light Eyeshadow Palette

This palette has served me very well. I know you are only supposed to keep palettes for 12-18 months and that is what they tell you on the palettes, but I confess to having this a lot longer. I believe, that as long as you take care of a palette and keep it sanitary and dry, then you should use the product as long as they feel and look good. After all, it's in the interest of the beauty companies to tell you to replace something more often, isn't it?

As you can see, my palette has certainly seen better days and will continue to see many more, but  I have definitely hit pan on several shades.

Laetus on the top left is the most used as I tend to use this as a base for many of my eye looks. Lazarus in the top middle is also on its way out. As well as using this is an eyeshadow, I also use this as a contour. I find it works really well for my cool skin tone. I've used it even more since my usual contour from my KVD Shade and Light Contour Palette is also almost gone - more on that later.

Latinus and Saleos have also hit pan and I am very close to breaking through on Shax and Liberatus.

So, my days with this Shade and Light palette are numbered, but I wouldn't think twice about repurchasing it again as I feel it is a really beautiful palette that offers so much. See my full review and swatches of this palette here.

Laura Mercier Eye Art Artist's Eyeshadow Palette

As a lover of purple eyeshadow, I absolutely love this palette. Not only does it give me a good selection of purples and pinks, but also some really nice neutrals. I use this palette extensively and it is the one I pack when I go on holiday as I can get lots of complete looks from it.

As you can see, this palette has been loved, a lot! I have hit pan on five shades: Sparkling Dew, African Violet, Violet Ink, Vanilla Nuts and Bamboo. I am also close to breaking through Kir Royal and Plum Smoke.

This is another palette I wouldn't think twice about repurchasing. The quality is excellent and the shadows blend beautifully and last all day. You can read my full review and see swatches of this palette here.

I have also hit pan on some of my other palettes and products, but I'll leave those for another day.....
