My March 2017 Boxycharm Unboxing

Once again my Boxycharm arrived earlier than usual, no complaints from me! So, I was eager to see what goodies were inside my mystery black box. The theme this month is Creepy Cute, which was a little odd given that it is March and not October, but who am I to question Boxycharm?

As usual, the box was packed with little boxes of delight. The first to catch my eye was the large fan Brush.

Crown Brush - SS023 Deluxe Fan Brush

This is a large fan brush that can be used for most powder applications. I usually use a brush like this to apply blush or highlighter. I also use it to brush away any fallout from shadows etc. On first impressions, it feels very soft and I’m sure I will get lots of use out of this. Retail value $18.99.

Smashbox - Photo Finish Primer

I know lots of people love this primer and sware by it, but I really don’t like it. I’ve really tried to like it but it just doesn’t do anything for my oily skin. From the spoilers of this products being included in Boxycharm, I noticed a lot of people moaning that this was a travel size and not a full-size product. I personally am fine with that, as I will end up gifting this anyway. Retail value $16.00.

Naked Cosmetics - Urban Rustic Palette

When I originally saw the spoilers for this palette, I was a little underwhelmed. The shades didn’t seem to be the ones I’d normally use and I had never heard of Naked Cosmetics. However, having seen this is the flesh it is much more cohesive that I thought.

The pigmentation is great and I didn’t notice any fallout when swatching, although I did do this with my finger, rather than my normal brush swatches. I have included a couple of photos in different lights to show the shimmery colours to their best. I am looking forward to trying out some looks with this palette as it definitely takes me away from my comfort zone. Retail value $39.99.

RealHer - Matte liquid Lipstick

According to the details, this matte lipstick is long-wearing and completely kiss proof. It also claims to combat dryness and nourish the lips. Mine came in the shade of “I Am A Rockstar” which is a very nice red. Looking forward to trying this one out. Retail value $15.00.

RealHer - Lipliner

Another product from RealHer and I am really pleased that this lip liner actually matches the lipstick, a nice touch from Boxy! I swatched this alongside the lipstick to show how closely they match. This shade is called “I Am Loved.” Retail Value $12.50

My Thoughts

I am much happier with this box that I first thought I would be. Having seen spoilers earlier in the month I wasn’t sure I’d like the eyeshadow palette and knew I’d hate the Smashbox primer, but it turns out I really quite like the eyeshadows. The combination of this and the lip products, not to mention the brush more than makes up for my hatred of the primer and makes the cost of $21 for products worth $102.48 well worth it.

Once again I am in love with my Boxycharm.
