“Windows 11 File Explorer UI and RGB controls now available for testing, offering a sleek modern design and customizable lighting options.”

Microsoft has Begun Testing its new modern File Explorer user Interface (UI) for Windows 11 in conjunction with in-built RGB Lighting controls. The updated interface includes a modern home interface with large file thumbnails and file carousels that can surface recently used and favourited ones. Changes to the File Explorer interface make it blend more closely to the overall Windows 11 design language, with refreshed address bar and search box. Microsoft has also begun testing built-in RGB lighting support for Dynamic Lighting, a Windows 11 feature that controls RGB lights using the open HID LampArray standard. Companies that have partnered with Microsoft on Dynamic Lighting include Acer, Asus, HP, HyperX, Logitech, Razer and Twinkly, though support for other LampArray-compatible brands is set to follow in 2024.
