Ceci Kurzman, a former board member for companies like Lanvin, Revlon, and Warner Music+, has launched Ourx, a direct-to-consumer digital Hair care brand that focuses on the needs of multicultural groups. After polling 30,000 professional millennials, OurX identified a gap in the market and created a proprietary technology that creates personalized regimens for scalp and textured hair health. OurX has seven products currently, and the average regimen’s cost is between $115 and $130 and includes one-on-one access to hair coaches. Among the experts who influence product development is dermatologist Jenna Lester, celebrity hair stylist Johnny Wright, and hairstylist Cataanda James. The company has raised $2.5m to launch.
