Python String isdecimal() Method with example



Hello guys! Welcome back to another section of my tutorial on Python. In this tutorial guide, we are going to be discussing about the Python String isdecimal() method.

Python String isdecimal() function checks whether the string consists of only decimal characters. This method is present only on Unicode objects.  

Syntax

The following below is the syntax for Python String isdecimal() method -

str.isdecimal( )

Parameter Details

  • NA.

Return Value

This returns True if all characters in the string are decimal, otherwise it returns False.

Example

The following below is a simple example -

#!/usr/bin/python

str
= u"this2009";
print str.isdecimal();

str
= u"23443434";
print str.isdecimal();

Output
Below is the output of the above example -

False
True
