Quasar, a Coding Framework Ideal for Google Material Design Projects

If you think that Google Material Design and Progressive Web Apps are here to stay, you are hardly alone in this sentiment. Even Microsoft has adjusted its user interface design guidelines in a way that resembles Material Design, and there has been a shift away from native apps to highly responsive web platforms.

On a popular online forum dedicated to the discussion of front-end development, a member recently posted two projects built entirely with Quasar, a framework that builds upon the Vue.JS platform with a strong focus on Material Design. This is what Google has been using for its web services and Android apps; it is becoming a dominant style that even Apple has been borrowing some design elements from.

The two projects in question are an online branding style guide and a CSS color gradient selector. The user interface plus functionality of these two Web Apps are easier to code with Quasar; they are heavy on JavaScript, but they run smoothly on modern web browsers.

Quasar is a framework that all front-end developers should take time to learn. It is clear that a combination of design trends in technology is coming together to form a clear direction in which we want to take our mobile and web experience. If you are part of the majority of people who want the best of both worlds and are not wedded to just one of them, you are likely on the quest for a solid developer strategy that can help you capitalize on those design trends and prepare for the future of your business and the web as a whole.

One of the major aspects of a Progressive Web app developed with Quasar is that it can be installed as a native app in the Store, making it seem like a native app on mobile devices and a website on desktop browsers. This gives the developers of progressive web apps the opportunity to use all the native mobile platform features such as push notifications and offline usage, while at the same time, using all the web-based platform features such as CSS animations.
