A person in a large site development discussion group shared a site they made. It is a tool that allows a user to lie about their Github contributions. The designer of the tool wanted to get some feedback from people. One person commented that it was the gift everybody didn't realize they needed. Another person said that they came across an app where a person can draw the same thing. For every day that was marked, it made a change. Somebody else said they tested the same thing two years ago.

One person said that to the far right of the graph is today's date, and on the far left are past days. The person can Fake content for past dates. This is done with a script. Someone else noted that it hacks into the git and updates it to a relevant past date. Someone said to force push all the things. The original poster provided a demo link for those who don't want to try it on their own.

One person noted that the toggle doesn't actually toggle. Somebody wrote to them and said they could contribute by fixing it, then a different person retorted that they could click on a few squares and make it look like they fixed it without actually doing it. Another individual said it was the same amount of effort they contribute to GitHub themselves.

One person left a brief comment that it was incredible. Someone else said this is the way to do it. One person added that if even GitHub can be faked, nobody will use it anymore because it won't be trustworthy. Someone wondered who actually trusted GitHub to begin with. One person was excited because they have a project coming up, and they plan to fake it. A different person wondered if it would help them "git" a job. A couple of people said this fake was a masterpiece. Many said they could not wait to test it or to try it out and see if anyone would notice that they faked the contribution instead of actually helping on GitHub.
