Making Web Design Into Art

Contemporary web design is regarded by many as worthy of being labeled an art form because, like with fine arts such as painting, there is always further opportunity for the creative mind behind the work to apply their artistry in minute ways. To many observers, creating a website that fulfills all necessary criteria for looking relatively professional and being perfectly functional is easier nowadays than ever. This is thanks to many elaborate functions having become all the more readily available to web designers using platforms like WordPress. Many such functions that are widely available to amateur designers have been painstakingly constructed by other artistic designers in their own time and shared as plugins and libraries.

Various web design programs make it easy for the user to insert interactive elements such as drop-down menus; this is often carried out as the program creating properly arranged web Code on the user's behalf. The code can remain relatively simple if the drop-down effect does not try to be more than the Menu items simply appearing and assuming their positions once the menu is opened from the top. However, inserting more nuanced behavior into how a drop-down menu makes its listed items visible usually takes much more manually structured code in comparison.

An exhibit hosted on codesandbox.io for an "elegant" take on this shows how much extra JavaScript code it takes to create a functioning drop-down menu that feels particularly "vibrant" in how it drops its listed items. The author had to write roughly 200 lines of code in order to dictate that a menu, upon being clicked by a user, displays a list with rounded edges that expands downward in such a way that the menu slightly "bounces back up" to settle at its final position. This behavior for drop-down menus is not often seen across the Internet because it is not widely included in common web design programs, so talented authors have to write the CSS or JavaScript code themselves. This, however, is also what makes the effect all the more remarkable and engaging to the viewer whenever it does appear. For more information click here https://v.redd.it/arazubduhny51.
