Plotting Made Easy (for Action/ Sci-Fi movies)

Want to write the next big blockbuster sci-fi or action movie, but you don't have a plot? I'm here to help. Just make a few choices, fill in a few blanks, and you're all set.

When the

(city/ country/ planet/ universe)

is threatened by the forces of an

(evil/ power-hungry/ insane)

(tyrant/ robot/ alien/ arch-villain)

named (name starting with K, Z, X or other consonant),

(name starting with K, Z, X or other consonant),

it us up to the

(young/ retired/ disgraced)

(heroic or average-sounding name)

to lead the

(resistance/ revolution/ last-stand fight).

(He/she) assembles a motley crew of

(untested young/ retired old/ disgraced)

allies. As the battle progresses, they learn to use the power of

(the force/ friendship/ faith/teamwork/ love)

to overcome the heavy odds against them. Along the way, it is revealed that the villain is the hero's

(father/ brother/ son/ former best friend/ robot).

The moral superiority of the hero and (his/her) group leads them to win the final showdown but leaves room for a

(prequel/ sequel/ spin-off).

Of course, you may want to go beyond fill-in-the-blanks plots, in which case you might be interested in attending my next Raindance Script Coach class, starting on February 22 in London. You can get all the info here: http://www.raindance.org/london/course/the-script-coach-series/
