TVs, and Wearables and cars, oh my! CES, the largest technology conference of the year is just around the corner, and I couldn’t be more excited. Key players in the tech industry, such as Samsung, GoPro, Ford and many more, will unveil their latest, cutting edge technology in the hopes of making a big splash in the industry.
TVs are expected to once again dominate CES 2016. I’m especially excited to see LG’s Oled Wallpaper TV. Like its name implies, the OLED Wallpaper TV is as thin as 1mm and weighs only 1.9kg. Its bendy screen can be hung anywhere using only magnets, fitting the design needs of any room. Another LG TV that is stirring up a lot of excitement is the OLED 4k TV. This TV features HDR Pro that LG says will make your TV watching experience look like “moving pictures on glass.” I’m can’t wait to until these TVs hit retail stores!
Cars are always a big deal at CES, and this year is no exception. One of the most highly anticipated and hyped unveilings is that of Faraday Future’s new Electric Car, which is set to compete against my dream car, Tesla. Faraday announced last night that its new electric car will feature a modular design, where the base model can become any vehicle to fit the customers’ needs. The batmobile-esque car looks very ambitious; I guess we’ll have to wait until 2020, when the company hopes to start selling, to see if Faraday can actually deliver a working model.
2015 was a big year for wearables, and it appears 2016 will be even bigger. Expect to see all kinds of wearables at CES 2016, from smart bras that read a women’s biometrics to fitness tracking devices that will do the math for its owner. This year companies will emphasize the services their wearables can provide. If I’m going to wear clothes and accessories all day anyway, then why not receive more information about my daily activities.
CES isn’t exclusive to big brand names, music startup Aivvy is set to release its Aivvy Q wireless Headphones, which act as an independent player. No device is needed as you can store all of your music locally on the headphones. As someone who has a tendency to drop their phone constantly when working out, these headphones might just be my phone’s saving grace.
For techies everywhere CES 2016 is sure to bring many new, fun and innovative gadgets for us to play with. Sound off in the comments below about what products you’re most excited to see!
