For many years, the University of California, Riverside has worked to create a healthier Food Program for their students. As a part of the UC Global Food Initiative, UCR has introduced their new "Seeds of Change" program. The Seeds of Change program was inspired by the Menus of Change Leadership Initiative, which promotes healthy eating and nutritious food. The Menus of Change program aims to create a large network of collaboration among America's top chefs, nutritionists, farm experts, foodservice executives, and policy makers. UCR has now implemented this program into their school.
During a lecture on May 7, 2015, Cheryl Garner (executive director of UCR dining services) explained the initiative's goal to provide healthy, sustainable, socially responsible, and delicious menus to the campus and community. The Seeds of Change program will be establishing many new core principles to change the way food is made and served. This new initiative aims to promote healthy eating for all students, staff, and etc. UCR hopes to revolutionize the way people currently think about and see their food.
To help UCR promote their new initiative, we've helped print out some campus signs. These will be hung all around the campus dining halls to remind students to eat healthy. They are also laminated to ensure quality protection and to ensure that they will last for months to come.
