inMotion ignite Product Roadmap – H2 2021

At inMomentum 2021, our 4th annual customer conference, Moniek Hop, VP of Product at Lytho and COO of EMEA at inMotionNow, and Josh Trauberman, Director of Product at inMotionNow, presented the Product Keynote. They looked back on key features launched over the last year, and offered a sneak peek at some of the new features our customers can expect to see in 2021.

Three of the biggest game-changing features for inMotion Ignite that we’ve launched in the last year include Data Warehouse, Timers, and Form Builder.

Data Warehouse

Data Warehouse was first announced at inMomentum 2020. Data Warehouse for Inmotion Ignite enables Creative teams to leverage their creative workflow metrics with data from other key systems, including marketing automation solutions and CRMs. Combining ignite data with the rest of your organization’s operational metrics in your preferred Business Intelligence platform increases automation, customization, and visualization of all your data to clearly show the impact that creative work has on meeting key business objectives. “Data Warehouse empowers creative teams to use data to tell the full story of what your creative team brings to the table,” said Josh.

Timers

Timers is a feature that we quickly pivoted to provide during the beginning of work from home in the spring of 2020 based on the needs of our customers. Because of the drastic increase in demand that creative teams were facing, they needed a way to easily and accurately keep track of how much time they were spending on each project. Timers makes this process a seamless experience, as Josh pointed out in the keynote, “We get it, nobody likes to track time. But when it comes to establishing processes and setting expectations with stakeholders, time tracking is a powerful tool. We built Timers to help you easily and quickly track time so you can stay focused on impactful work that drives better outcomes for your brand.”

Form Template Builder

Form Template Builder allows ignite users to create, edit, and manage request forms themselves. Users can build custom forms that contain all the information your team needs to get started on projects, including custom fields. It’s also easy to duplicate and edit forms to fine tune them to your team’s needs. “I can’t tell you how thrilled I was to see this all come together, and the overwhelmingly positive response from our customers.” Josh said. In fact, he turned it over to Audra Levy, AVP of Creative Operations at IT Cosmetics, to share the impact that Form Template Builder has had on her team.

What to Expect Next for 2021

But that’s not all! We have even more exciting features planned for the rest of 2021. Here are some that we’re looking forward to!

Resource Management

We are always listening to our customers and the creative industry to understand how the industry is changing, the new challenges creatives are facing, and what innovative solutions we can provide. In our annual industry report, the 2021 Creative Management Report, we heard a consistent theme of creative teams being asked to do more than ever before. They must learn new skills, handle larger volumes of work, and take on more strategic roles in their organizations. To handle all of this, creative teams need to be able to effectively manage their resources. We decided to focus our development efforts on answering three key questions related to Resource Management.

How do I make sure that my team is focused on doing the most important work first?

With a constant stream of work coming in the door, it’s critical for teams to understand the relative priorities of all their projects. That is why we are releasing the Priorities feature this summer. This feature is flexible to allow teams to go beyond “low, medium, high” to create as many custom, color-coded priorities as they need. The color-coded priority badge will appear in work lists and custom views across ignite so that prioritized work is always visible. As Josh explained “It was important for us to make sure that the Priority badge was everywhere in the product so that teams can always have instant access to the priority of everything they are working on. It was also critical for us to make sure things were in the right order, that you saw the most important thing first.”

Who do I make sure I’m assigning the right work to the right people?

“In all my years at inMotionNow, I’ve consistently heard customers talking about the concept of assigning work to the right people, the people on their team with the best skill set for the job. Now we’ve brought that to life in the platform with our new Specialties feature.” Josh described how ignite users can assign skill sets to users in their account, and then use the Specialties feature to assign work based on the skillset required. Just like with many features in ignite, users can completely customize the specialties in their account. Once the specialties are created and assigned, users can be quickly assigned to work items accordingly. ignite customers will be able to get hands-on with this feature when it launches this fall.

How do I help my team avoid burnout?

This question is a sort of “holy grail” for anyone focused on project management. With ever-increasing demand for creative work, how do you not only get everything done, but also keep your team happy, motivated, and inspired?  The new Workload feature in ignite, available this fall, will help teams manage the distribution of work so that no one is overwhelmed. Josh explained “The idea behind Workloads is to give you a clear visualization of what and how much each of your team members is working on, so you can have productive conversations to balance the distribution of work across the team.”

inMotion ignite + Lytho

In April of 2020, we announced our partnership with Lytho, a DAM and Brand Management platform based in the Netherlands. This partnership will help us provide broader support for the content lifecycle, and help teams drive better content outcomes. Many of our customers are seeking a DAM and Brand Management solution, and a few have already begun delving into the benefits that Lytho offers, as highlighted by inMotionNow customer and inMomentum speaker Sarah Tinsley, Creative Manager at AAPL (American Association of Professional Landmen).

Over the next few months, we will begin to merge the inMotion ignite and Lytho platforms together. As we progress through this integration, we will continue to share updates and the many innovative ways our customers find synergies between ignite and Lytho, as Moniek highlighted, “What can you expect from this fusion over time? Our vision is to achieve better content outcomes, not just increase content outputs. That means our focus points for combining the two platforms are around the following goals: We want to give you time back. And thereby achieve better content outcomes. We want to help you build your brand. And thereby achieve better content outcomes.  We want to give you insights into the total content lifecycle. And thereby achieve better content outcomes.”
