My lifelong research of UFOlogy cases qualifies me to be considered an expert about the diverse evidence that has been documented throughout the years.

After reading many recent online news articles about UFOs and UAP (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena) that have been published following the widely read article out of New York in December 2017, none I've read have seemed to take into consideration the full gamut of UFOlogy 'evidence' readily available online.

The Senate Intelligence Committee's order for the Director of National Intelligence and the Secretary of Defense to deliver an unclassified report about UAP shows the political acceptance for the potentially limiting military assumed imperatives that may influence the outcome.  It is history repeating itself when one considers Project Blue Book.

The question now is whether the authors of the upcoming military report for the Senate will offer any comparable evidence to what this Opinion article is now presenting.  Perhaps the people in positions of governmental authority will appreciate the points being shared in the paragraphs below.

First of all, those decades-old UFO magazines and paperbacks should not be discounted for any conceivable reason.  Some of the articles present detailed documentation and analysis, such as:

The article is about a mass UFO sighting event in Finland.  Three witnesses were interviewed about the reported 'wave' of 'flying saucer'-type UFO sightings that took place in and around Helsinki during a 14-hour period commencing at dusk on October 13, 1966.  Reports of similar events in the United States are documented to have occurred in 1947 and 1950.  A mass sighting in Italy occurred on October 27, 1954 and was the subject of a retrospective article by the BBC in 2014.  'The Phoenix Lights' in 1997 is a well-known example.   The UFO Magazine article also mentions events in Washington, D.C. in 1952 and in Tokyo in 1964.

This case involves an Alabama police officer who took four photographs of an apparent alien entity in 1973. While the case has been briefly described at a variety of UFOlogy websites, these comparatively in-depth articles are by an experienced UFO investigator.

There are some other magazine titles published among past decades that consistently may be found to offer blatant disinformation and patronization of readers.  This documentation is also necessary to place in perspective.

Specific circumstances for two of the famous disc-shaped UFO photos have been reported in numerous UFOlogy books and periodicals.  The photos were taken at the farm of Evelyn and Paul Trent on May 11, 1950 in McMinnville, Oregon and eventually were featured in an issue of Life magazine.  These photos are in the public domain and today easily found via an Internet search.

Frank Edwards chronicled the Trent case in his nonfiction book Stranger Than Science (1959), identifying a parallel between an aspect of the aircraft seen in the photos with the description of a strange object seen by Captain Willis Sperry and a copilot 19 days later.  Several weeks after this, incidents unfolded that resulted with the Trent photos being published in newspapers across the globe.  The photos correlate with Captain Sperry's description.

The manifold links between diverse sightings and case histories will not be apparent to people when they are casually giving their attention to UFO photos and articles.

Another circular UFO photo that has gained the attention of UFOlogists is featured in Beyond Earth (1974) by Ralph and Judy Blume with the caption: "In June 1967, more than 50 people saw this UFO, with its unusual markings, flying low over San Jose de Valderas, Spain.  Landing marks were found." Considering the Trent photos, the Blumes wrote about a French UFO photo: "This almost identical UFO was photographed by a pilot while flying over Rouen, France, the summer of 1954."

Contemporary people may be surprised to learn that the autobiographical case study book published by Truman Bethurum entitled Aboard a Flying Saucer (1954) includes images of two physical letters given him from the female captain, providing him with unexpected evidence of the entire series of events that he described.  One letter was written in French and the other Chinese.  The letters provided the answer to a question written in French. The question had been given to Truman by one of his friends and Truman had asked the captain named 'Aura' that the answer to the question be written in the same language with also a comparable answer in Chinese or Yiddish.

The letters translated to English present proverbs and the context for this was beyond Truman’s ability to intellectually evaluate.  Researchers familiar with the annals of transcendental communication may realize that there are many cases in this oeuvre presenting evidence consisting of poetry or proverbs, including such psychic phenomena/automatic writing experiencers-turned-authors as Pearl Lenore Curran of 'Patience Worth' fame, Chico Xavier and Elizabeth Fuller, to name just a few.

Other 'evidence' that commonly goes ignored by people as it simply is outside their accustomed cultural programming are transcripts of transcendental communication originating through what today are commonly called 'channelers.'  Over the years, UFOlogy is an aspect of case chronologies involving 'paranormal people' who may be unknown or have been overlooked among contemporary UFOlogy researchers.  These paranormal people include Thomas Jacobson, Paulina Peavy, Mark Probert, Phyllis V. Schlemmer and Partana Vegan.

My personal response to the entire spate of UFOlogy articles in 2017/18 was to realize that there is an obvious impasse for anyone who doesn't know about or ignores the evidence of several of the best documented flying saucer/UFO 'contactee' cases.
