July 2021 Beauty, Skincare and Wellness Empties

The best products are the ones you use up to the very last drop and then repurchase. A few months ago I finally organised enough to collect my beauty, skincare and wellness empties, and I have done it again throughout July, and I'm excited to share them with you! There are so many 5/5 products this month, with some I've already repurchased.

Brand: Innisfree

Product: Jeju orchid enriched cream 50ml

Price: $42 for 50ml

Where did I get it: Bellabox

I would likely: Purchase for myself or as a gift

Rate: 4/5

My thoughts:
A smooth and rich, moisture laden cream that hydrates and nourishes skin deeply and intensely. This was one of my favourite creams to apply after a day of being exposed to the elements or when I felt my skin needed a little extra moisture boost. It also feels so light, which I love.

Brand: Frank Body

Product: Brightening Vitmain C Mask, 50ml

Price: $19.95 for 50ml

Where did I get it: Mecca

I would likely: I have already repurchased

Rate: 5/5

My thoughts:

This resurfacing vegan mask is formulated to help to reduce the appearance of pigmentation and visible signs of ageing. I purchased it to address the pigmentation on my forehead and after using it 3 times a week for a month I was already noticing a positive difference. I now use it once a week as I've also recently added peels to my skincare regime. I had read reviews of people saying they only got 5 uses out of the product however mine lasted me a few months. I used one pump of product 3 times a week. For a product that retails at around $20 it is certainly good value.

Brand: Wellness Relief Co.

Product: Ashwagandha Health Booster, 60 capsules

Price: $44.95 for 60 capsules

Where did I get it: Gifted

I would likely: Pass on the product

Rate: 2/5

My thoughts:

A supplement to help the body naturally self-regulate, however I didn't notice any difference when taking or not taking the product. With many supplements if I don't notice a difference I don't believe it isn't going to make a difference for someone else it just doesn't make a difference for me.

Brand: Patchology

Product: Mood Mask - Get Dewy With It, 1 sheet mask

Price: $7 for I sheet mask

Where did I get it: Sample with an order from Mecca

I would likely: Would certainly use if gifted

Rate: 3/5

My thoughts:

From a wastage point of view and cost per use I'm not a fan of sheet masks, which is also why the low rating and reasons for why I wouldn't purchase it. I tried this mask on my very thirsty-winter skin. It's definitely packed with moisture and my skin felt dewy afterwards, however I feel that I could of got the same result from using an over night mask or a good serum and moisturiser combo. It was anice treat but not something I would buy myself.

Brand: Dr Dennis Gross

Product: Extra Strength Daily Peel, 30 treatments

Price: $125 for 30 treatments

Where did I get it: Purchased from Mecca

I would likely: I have already repurchased

Rate: 5/5

My thoughts:

I bought these to up the anti of the the Alpha Beta Universal Daily Peels I had previously purchased. I've had salon facial peels and used at home peels before. In most situations, what I struggled with most is the aftercare and downtime. I love the Dr Dennis Gross Extra Strength Daily Peel, because they are easy to use; apply step 1 to clean dry skin, wait two minutes, and then apply step 2. There is no downtime, and they are safe to use morning or night. I started off using them daily as I was already using the Alpha Beta Universal Daily Peels daily. I'm using them to help combat skin concerns related to ageing and exposure to the elements. My skin looks much smoother, feels softer, and my fine lines are lessened. I also really like that Dr Dennis Gross has a strong focus on sun protection, which gives me faith in that his products are suited to my outdoors lifestyle.

Brand: Dermalogica

Product: Solar Defense Booster, 2 x sachets

Price: $78.50 for 50ml

Where did I get it: Received a sample at an event

I would likely: Pass on the product

Rate: 1/5

My thoughts:

I don't know if it was because they were samples but I found the product would crystalize and leave little glitter like things on my face which seemed odd. I did like the texture and the sunscreen appeared to preform well. The scent wasn't intense, it goes on nicely, and doesn’t have a white cast. It is the strange crystallisation and the price point (for the same price I can buy 8 times the amount of my go to sunscreen) that would prevent me from purchasing this product.

Brand: Kiehl's

Product: Cannabis Seed Oil Herbal Cleanser, 30ml

Price: $47 for 150ml

Where did I get it: Sample with an order from Kiehl's

I would likely: Purchase for myself

Rate: 5/5

My thoughts:
This is one of my favourite foaming facial cleansers at the moment, a little bit goes a long way and it really does clean the skin. If I didn't have a stock pile of cleansers to work my way through I would of purchased this straight away. It is great at removing sunscreen and heavy make up while also being nurturing to sensitive skin.

Brand: Kiehl's

Product: Powerful-Strength Line Reducing Concentrate, 5ml

Price: $29 for 15ml

Where did I get it: Sample with an order from Kiehl's

I would likely: Use if gifted

Rate: 3/5

My thoughts:
This serum is formulated to visibly reduce the appear of wrinkles and refine skin texture. It's very easy to use, just apply two pumps to the face in a gentle patting motion before your moisturiser. I found the smell to be a little odd and I personally didn't notice a huge difference, however I've always been sceptical of using line reducing products as I rarely see any difference that I can attribute to that one product. However if I were to receive another sample I would certainly use it and not let it go to waste.

Brand: Drunk Elephant

Product: T.L.C. Framboos™ Glycolic Night Serum, 1 sachet

Price: $191 for 50ml

Where did I get it: Sample with an order from Mecca

I would likely: Use if gifted

Rate: 3/5

My thoughts:

I was mixing this serum with the Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil (see below) and I found it to be a great combination for a nourishing and refining solution for my skin, however the results I do not feel warrant the price point given that there a products on the market that offer a similar result for less. It isn't a bad product, it goes on nicely, sinks in quickly, didn't cause any reactions or breakouts and I did notice my skin was smoother.

Brand: Drunk Elephant

Product: Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil, 1 sachet

Price: $103 for 30ml

Where did I get it: Sample with an order from Mecca

I would likely: Use if gifted

Rate: 4/5

My thoughts:

I was mixing this serum with the T.L.C. Framboos™ Glycolic Night Serum (see above) and I found it to be a great combination for a nourishing and refining solution for my skin. I don't typically use facial oils in my skin care on a regular basis, however this sample has convinced me to consider using them in the future especially when my skin is feeling rather tight and dry. At the moment I wouldn't purchase this product only because I a stock pile of oils to work my way through however I would consider buying this in the future.
