The first post is about one of my favorite shooting games of all time, Alien Shooter 2. If you are a fan of shooting games, this probably needs no introduction, but since we are a game review blog, we are going to cover it in detail

Alien Shooter 2 is part of a series of shooting games which all follow more or less the same formula. Basically, there is a simple story about some aliens taking over the world and your job is to find the cause of this and stop the invasion being happening. After all, it is a shooting game so you don’t need that much of backstory. After the initial introductions and getting acquainted with the controls, you realize that this game has quite a bit of depth, mostly because of the RPG elements included and the strategic/tactical choices you have to make as you progress.

I have to say that the game might look simple and easy, but it definitely requires some skill and planning. You need to collect all the money from levels that you can purchase better weapons from the shop because the aliens are getting tougher and smarter as you go along. This cannot stressed too much, go over all the seemingly uninteresting locations to check if there are extra coins or hidden treasures.

Actually the version from Gametop is the official sequel for the original Alien Shooter 2. The Reloaded version is the same game, but it’s been significantly improved based on the user feedback. There are couple of more missions, the downloadable package is smaller, more weapon types etc.

In addition to the campaign mode, there are two other game modes, survive and gun stand. Both modes are kind of similar, the task is to survive as long as possible with the ever increasing waves of enemies. But the campaign mode provides plenty of entertainment with 17 missions and those character building / RPG elements I mentioned before.

While Alien Shooter 2 is no match for the modern 3D shooters, it definitely delivers in terms of gameplay and pure arcade fun. Originally the game was sold as indie title for $15 dollars or so, but these days you can download it completely free from Gametop.

Alien Shooter 2 is a really solid action shooter game. Personally I love the game, despite the outdated graphics. There is just right amount of action and tactical options to keep things interesting. Blasting your way through 10,000 aliens per level is a great stress buster too
