10) Attack the Light – Steven Universe Light RPG

Based on the kids show on Cartoon Network, Attack-Light-Steven-Universe is a turn style RPG with some brain teasing puzzles to keep your mind occupied. What sets this game apart from other TV to game adaptations is the involvement of the show’s writer, Rebecca Sugar. This gave the game a realistic storyline (to the show), which engages fans from the very start. The game itself is a welcome surprise graphically, as every part of it looks very similar to the show, which is always a nice surprise but easily done with cartoon games. Overall, we rate this game so much at gamesGRABR and for £3 it’s an absolute steal.

9) Rayman Adventures

Rayman Adventures is the third instalment of the franchise to be released on a mobile platform. While the game is still developed by Ubisoft, the controls have the game have completely changed, giving the player an overall much more pleasant experience while playing. Rayman is much easier to control now by using a very easy tap control mechanic and new elements have been added to the game; such as Incrediballs, which are collectable companions that can assist you in gameplay. A wicked free download for all you platformer gamers out there, or of course for anyone who loves Rayman!

8) Minecraft: Story Mode

Telltale Games are back, releasing a game that gives insight into the thrilling world of Minecraft. Following their other series’ (The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones), the game itself is a point and click adventure where you help Jesse and his friends to save the universe. The story itself runs in true Minecraft style, it’s highly engrossing, absorbing and at times, comical. There are multiple endings to the story, depending on the choices you make during your journey so you’ll definitely want to play the whole thing over and over and over again. Much like others in the franchise, the game is stunning, with lots of similarities to the PC or Console counterparts. Will you embark on this epic journey for under £4?

7) Agar.io

The aim of Agar.io is simply to grow your cell by roaming the mass of space and eating other players who are smaller. However, remember that you are likely to be smaller than someone else, so watch out for players bigger than you. Originally created for online play on the PC and hosted on Miniclip.com, the graphics are pretty basic but that doesn’t make the game any less appealing or addictive. You are essentially a coloured blob, eating other coloured blobs until you’re the biggest blob. There are new controls that have been developed for the Mobile Device to give players the best experience possible. The only downside to this game is that you must have an Internet connection to play, so make sure you’re connected to wifi when playing! Agar.io is a free download.

6) Fallout Shelter

Can you run a successful post apocalyptic shelter? Well Bethesda have given you the chance with their new release on mobile. As usual with Fallout games, you have Pip-Boy holding your hand and guiding you for the best chance of survival. The aim is to keep all of your dwellers happy, watered, powered and fed. There’s also a chance to train the dwellers and pimp them out with outfits and weapons, which is a massive help when raiders and mole rats comes to destroy the place and make anarchy on your precious shelter. You can also prepare dwellers for the wasteland, something that all Fallout players wished they had before climbing out of their vault. If you like playing god, this free game is perfect for you!

5) Need for Speed No Limits

In our opinion, Need for Speed No Limits is the best driving game that has ever been released on Android. The game has an extremely crisp design and boasts amazing customisation on cars and has a very unique way to collect them. In true EA fashion, you buy crates to unlock cars, which you can acquire with the in-game currency. The story line is compelling and captivating; it certainly doesn’t disappoint the Need for Speed franchise and players feel really engaged with characters in the game. The game is easy to navigate with simple touch turning and boosting for nitrous. Download this game for free and concur the streets.

4) Lara Croft: Relic Run

Lara Croft: Relic Run is another edition to the relatively new endless runner genre; in this take on it we have the infamous Lara Croft at the helm. Some great features in this game include jumping on a quad bike for a daring ride, being chased by a T-Rex and there’s even a section where you shoot down enemies in a thrilling action sequence. Much like others of its kind, the game has simple swipe controls, which makes gameplay very accessible and addictive.

3) Angry Birds 2

For the most part, Angry Birds 2 is a fantastic sequel to the award-winning original. However, there is a difference in this game that may put people off. It seems that the latest Angry Birds instalment is taking the same route as other hugely successful games like Candy Crush Saga, in that once you have used your five lives, you have to wait thirty minutes for your lives to regenerate, watch an advert to gain a life or pay premium currency (slowly earned or purchased for about 50p) for a life refill. This differs from the original, where you could waste hours of your life procrastinating trying to hit those little green pigs. Aside from that, the bird flinging action is as fun as ever, it has improved graphics and you can play as a variety of birds in a new multi-stage levels. You can even play online against real-world players to finally find out who should be crowned as Angry Birds royalty.

2) LEGO Star Wars the Complete Saga

This LEGO Star Wars is one of the best treats from Warner Bros. Finally, we can get the complete saga right in the palm of our hands to play on a commute to work, in the living room or even laying in bed rather than firing up the PC or setting up our consoles. Don’t worry though; the game being scaled down does not affect the gameplay or the quality of the graphics. The controls do not get in the way and the game boasts all of the amazing features that made us fall in love with the game all those years ago. Characters are still collectable; you can play episodes 1-6, race vehicles and have exhilarating LEGO battles. You can enjoy this action RPG game for under £5.

1) Pac-Man 256

Retro game fans will be holding back tears for this release from Bandai Namco, they have taken the classic Pac-Man to a whole new level. You can enjoy the game you know and love but if you are good enough, you will never have to stop playing. The graphics have improved significantly for the modern remake for Android users, Pac-Man never looked so good. It has vibrant and exciting colours, which will entice the younger generation to jump on the retro bandwagon and who exclaim retro games are “boring and out-dated”. Now you can finally outsmart those pesky ghosts with over fifteen awesome power-ups, but watch out for the super villain, who is the glitch.
