Blizzard aren’t looking to play favourites in the Overwatch League. While established teams will be considered to take part in the league, leaderboard standouts will be considered from the game’s 30 million-strong playerbase.

These players are considered “free agents” by Blizzard and they won’t be overlooked. Blizz want to create the best league possible, while also discovering fresh talent in the process.

The official player signing window for Season 1 opens from August 1 to October 30, 2017. In this time, the announced teams can fill their rosters and sign players.
