Bandai Namco’s forthcoming Code Vein - which I think we can now safely call a ‘Soulslike’ action-RPG - has got its first trailer. After a stylish teaser last month, this one has a bit of gameplay footage.
Avert various kinds of apocalypse in the best RPGs on PC.
The trailer opens with narration of an apocalyptic scenario brought about by the ‘Thorns of Judgement’ piercing ‘the age of the immoral’. Faced with destruction, “humanity must be thrown away”.
The introduction then segues into some gameplay footage. A pair of characters explore dark caves and snowy mountains, duelling big monsters in a very Soulslike fashion (there's a lot of rolling). There's also a lot of gore, which personally I found a bit jarring next to the characters' cherubic anime faces, but that's just me.
