Filming begins this week on a new SAW, and not only is Chris Rock starring in it, so is the equally famous Samuel L. Jackson.
Bloody Disgusting was able to get an exclusive confirmation on Jackson’s presence in the film. Known for being in a lot of action movies (including Pulp Fiction and many Marvel films), Samuel is an odd choice for this role, but we assume it’s because of how well he can play off of Chris Rock. Rock, known for being a famous American actor, director, and stand up comedian, was rumoured to have come up with the original pitch of this film, which was then expanded on by Jigsaw writers Pete Goldfinger and Josh Stolberg.
Darren Lynn Bousman will be directing, returning to the position after his work on SAW II through IV. He has once again taken the reigns from creators James Wan and Leigh Whannell, who have since produced all sequels alongside Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures. There has been no word as to whether or not Tobin Bell, Jigsaw’s iconic actor, will be returning.
The new SAW is due out on October 23rd, 2020. There’s many riddles left to uncover, so we’ll keep you posted on all the gory details.
