Valve veers ahead with VR – Redesigned Website Confirms

They are moving ahead, they are evolving and they are here to stay.  Yes, Valve’s stress on Hardware is a clear indication that they are more than serious on best of VR.

A new look

When you wish to project yourself dynamically, you need to speak digitally.  Valve is screaming loud and clear that they are progressively changing.  They have re-designed their website.  The bold red font, the rapidly moving lettering says it all. It is a new look that bespeaks of new activity. Valve is concentrating to get best of VR like never before and they are here to deliver what the VR consumer wants.

What does Valve do?

To the newbies to consumer VR, Valve is the centrifugal force behind the headset’s technologies used in Vive.  Perhaps you associated HTC with all that Vive offers. However, Valve actually serves Vive and Rift, among other gaming headsets.

The approach and the delivery

Valve’s ‘done when it’s ready’ attitude has often been misread.  The consumer has wrongly assumed that it spells a decline in tech.  The exit of Valve’s widely acclaimed Chet Faliszek in 2017 only served to heighten this misconception.  In addition, the public witnessed a sneak display of “Knuckles” controllers 18 months ago.  Thereafter there has been no formal launch.  All this writing on the wall has sent out the wrong signals.

But now, the refreshing new look to the website has put paid to the distorted speculation.  In no uncertain terms, Valve declares that its focus and goal is to build hardware to get best of VR.  If you browse through their “About Page” and you will see the Company’s hardware efforts.  Steam Controller and Steam Link are their two hardware highlights.  The accompanying visuals on the website affirm their commitment to VR hardware.  Valve Head, Gabe Newell, in a massive headset leading up to Vive, endorses the company’s mission.

More excitement is on the way

Hardware aside, Valve has announced that they are working on 3 VR games.  This announcement has kindled the curiosity of the gaming fraternity, more particularly since Valve has chosen to be taciturn thereafter.

Recruitment for roles involving VR research and development are a clear indication of the Company’s intentions.  It is VR hardware all the way.  Even the ‘People’ page, clearly spells work on VR.

Valve has customarily been thought of as a software company.  However, times are changing.  They are now holding the controls of both software and hardware with the same joystick.  This is an enviable position.  It gives Valve unlimited creative and technical power.  They are truly in the driver’s seat for all you VR gamers, out there.

Setting the bar to get best of VR

Valve has set high standards for all its projects.  As already said, ‘it’s done, when it is ready’.  If it is not ready, Valve will not hesitate to postpone the launch date. Quality is of paramount importance.  If quality requires more time, then so shall it be.  Under no circumstances, quality will be sacrificed at the cost of meeting a publicly declared deadline.  Given their emphasis on quality and their reaffirmation to VR, they are truly on their way to creating VR’s very first killer app!

Every consumer product gets better with feedback from the end-user.  Tell us what you think about Valve’s new commitments.
