A new modality will be shown this week
Little by little the news related to the next Overwatch event begins to arrive. This time, Blizzard Entertainment released a video to talk about some of the activities that will be available next week.
Blizzard confirmed what we already assumed: this year's event will be called Overwatch Archives instead of Uprising. The news was presented by Jeff Kaplan, director of the game, and Tim Ford, principal engineer, who reminded fans that this year will be back the Uprising modality, but will also add a new call Retribution.
Uprising is a PvE mode that debuted last year and is inspired by a historic Lore Overwatch event. It is a mission where Tracer fights against the comic rebellion led by Null Sector. This activity will be available during Overwatch Archives, for those who missed it the first time.
On the other hand is Retribution, a new mode that we do not know much about, but Blizzard already launched the first tracks during the past week. Some suggest that this mission will focus on Blackwatch and that it will take place a year before Uprising events.
Fortunately, it takes very little to get more answers. The company plans to release more information about Retribution next Wednesday, April 4 at 6:00 PM in Mexico City, 8:00 PM Santiago de Chile, during the third stage of the Overwatch League.
On the loot boxes of this event, Kaplan confirmed that they will include all the content of last year's event, more new elements. Although no new skin was revealed, the Overwatch director noted that there will be a new look for "your favorite brother Shimada."
Overwatch Archives will take place from April 10 to 30. In what the new details come.
