The archer could receive a new skill
Overwatch is a game as a service and as such is constantly evolving. This means that, in addition to receiving new content every so often, several of the characteristics of their characters are open to change. This is why Blizzard is preparing settings for Hanzo, the powerful Overwatch goalkeeper.
After several fans asked him to speak on the subject, Jeff Kaplan, head of the development of Overwatch, confirmed that they are working on a redesign for Hanzo. That is, they are analyzing the possibility of implementing adjustments to their characteristics, as well as adding new skills and different animations.
It is expected that with this redesign Hanzo has a new ability to shoot fast; that the sonic arrows present adjustments and that their regular arrows are faster. As you imagine, this also implies that, in case the changes are accepted, Hanzo will have new animations and special effects. To give you an idea of how they will look, Kaplan showed them in a conceptual art:
From what is seen in the art, it is obvious that Blizzard is looking for it to be evident when Hanzo is going to use this ability. That is, it seems to be designed in such a way that the use of rapid fire can be detected by its opponents to avoid breaking the game or feel like an unfair power.
It is important to note that these changes are just in a stage of internal testing and it is expected that later they will reach the realm of Overwatch testing. This means that the adjustments are not yet final and may have differences when they make their debut in the final version of Overwatch.
