So I’ve been a bit quiet lately, but I’ve been working on some recipes that I hope to be able to share with you soon, they just need a bit of refining.
Anyway on Saturday, me and Sam decided to stop off at SOY Seafood & Sushi Bar for some lunch. I love sushi, so I’ve been excited to try SOY since it opened a while back.
Unfortunately I didn’t take many photos as I just completely forgot, but hopefully I’ll be going back so I’ll update with some more photos then.
The weather wasn’t great, a bit cloudy, but we still sat in the sheltered outside area. We were lucky enough to get seats right by the barrier so that we could people watch which I enjoyed. I love to sit outside.
Anyway, the food was fab. Whilst they didn’t have any veggie sushi on the menu, I asked if they could do something vegan and they were happy to accommodate. I was able to have either 8 or 10 rolls, so went with 8. I could have easily eaten them all but didn’t want to fill up before my main. They were really delicious. Also the soy sauce I had seemed extra salty which was nice, although I don’t know if that’s just me. Can you get different types of soy sauce?
Then following this we both had yasai katsu curry. We both love katsu curry, especially from Bento Sushi, so we’re always eager to try it from other places to see how it compares. It came with tonnes of tempura veggies which was really different to anywhere we’d had before but was really tasty. The katsu sauce was delicious too, although a bit more wouldn’t have gone amiss.
All in all it was delicious and I’m already planning on when to go back – it’s great to have a proper sushi restaurant in Jersey. Whilst they didn’t have vegan sushi options on the menu, it was easy to ask and they were happy to accommodate, although a bit more variety would have been nice. Definitely recommended!
