Lost Penny Q&As - Part 1

Q&A with Melanie Gaydos

Penny is welcomed to the club by the Hostess.
Q: What's your role in the movie?
A: I play the role of the Hostess, the gate keeper of sorts into the club and introduce everyone to the inside operation.

Q: What was your favorite part of playing this role?
A: My favorite part of playing the character is being able to exude strong personality in the characters "natural habitat."

Q: What did you enjoy the most about working on this film?
A: I enjoyed meeting all of the members of crew and people who made the production possible.

MELANIE GAYDOS (Hostess) is an actress and model currently living in New York City. She travels nationally and abroad for independent film projects and larger editorial productions. She enjoys playing strong, quirky characters who exist in a world of their own.

Q&A with Kevin Connelly

The Shadow Genie watches from a distance.
Q: Which role do you play in "Lost Penny"?
A: The Shadow Genie (aka - Kevin). I thought of this character as a blend between David Bowie's portrayal of Jareth the Goblin King in 'Labyrinth', lightly spiced with Gary Oldman's portrayal of Zorg in 'The Fifth Element'. I would describe him as seductive, manipulative, devoutly narcissistic and slightly insane. A rather likeable fellow really...

Q: What was the most challenging part of playing this role?
A: Honestly, the most challenging part of playing this character was that I didn't get to play him enough. I was just getting to know him and then we were done.

Q: What did you enjoy the most about working on this film?
A: I enjoyed working with the CubeCity/Moon Brothers team again. Delightful. As well, off camera, I spent some quality time with the hard working cast and crew for this film, some of whom were kind enough to share their wonderful stories. Also delightful.

KEVIN CONNELLY (Shadow Genie) has lots of experience both in film and on the stage. He first worked with CubeCity in their rock musical, "Job and the Snake", playing the role of Job (as well as Satan in earlier inculcations). Music credits: "Life on Mars: The Sound & Vision of David Bowie", "Iron Age Mystics", "Mercuretto", and "New Regime" (RCA/BMG/SONY records).

Q&A with Robert Tanos

Penny bumps into the Enforcer.
Q: What's your role in "Lost Penny"?
A: The Enforcer.

Q: What was your favorite part of playing this role?
A: I enjoy working on any movie set in any capacity. For this movie, I liked playing a darker character and shooting fire from my fingers with the help of an expert pyrotechnics team.

Q: What did you enjoy the most about working on this film?
A: I appreciate the experience of working with professional actors and crew. It makes up for having to constantly endure the producer's wrath.

ROBERT TANOS (Enforcer) began acting at an early age, and at 22, he landed the role of King Arthur in the musical "Camelot". The past 35 years has found him studying the art of acting for the camera, while working behind-the-scenes for various independent productions. He recently played the role of Red the drummer in the film "Lazer Us".

Q&A with Todd Melville

A very flustered Security Check.
Q: Tell us about your role in the movie.
A: Security Check: Neurotic-Paper-Clip-wearing-door-person. He likes everything to be in order, and patrons to be prepared... When they aren't, he falls apart.

Q: What was your favorite part of playing this character?
A: Favorite ~~~~ Laughing.

Q: What did you enjoy the most about working on this film?
A: The team involved with the show makes the environment awesome! The allure of being someone else in front of the camera compels me to want to be in front of the camera more...er

TODD MELVILLE (Security Check) At a young age, Todd would look at the credits of movies and TV shows and wonder how he could get his name on there... It started out by being on stage in live theatre... 30+ performances. Later he got involved with movie productions. This is great!
