How are the scores calculated and what does it mean?

Mytheon was a free to play massive multiplayer online video game developed by Petroglyph Games. The game incorporated action, roleplaying, and strategy elements. Players advanced through the game’s Greek-mythology-themed dungeons using a deck of collectible spells called power stones. The game was released on March 3, 2011. After close to 6 months of operation, UTV True Games announced the shut down of the game servers on July 27, 2011. A reworked version, designed to allow for a single purchase instead, was released on Steam. The score is composed by Frank Klepacki.

The Greek music comes in form of a lute and it’s quite nice. You can hear it in ‘Hymn Of Aspiration’. Whether it’s authentic Greek I have no idea, but it does sound ancient and very nice as well. It is great for relaxing gaming, perhaps with a nice and simple task like trading or shopping. It is the various battle cues I enjoy the most though. It reminds of a lot of RTS games I used to play like Age Of Mythology and others. This music could have been perfect for those. Yes, it’s a fine score, but the classical snobs might not enjoy it. I think that if you were a gamer in the late 90s/early 00s you will find this very enjoyable. Ok, so it’s a 2011 game and technology demands better sounding game scores. I don’t care about that. The nostalgia needs some itching as well and this one gave me a cure, at least for a while.
