Katara was of a view that Salman should challenge the trial court order through a revision petition in the High Court, not file appeal as Salman did.

The Dabangg Khan had been given a clean chit in the case, by the High Court, on the basis that the main witness was ‘wholly unreliable’ and that there were discrepancies in the case. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had announced that his government would challenge the High Court’s verdict; so the government of Maharashtra has filed a petition in the apex court against the acquittal of the actor.
