After years of not being on air, X-FILES returned for what was presumed as a one off series, but we may actually be seeing more.
David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson returned as Mulder and Skully to investigate aliens, but the event series that returned didn’t leave everyone satisfied with how it turned out. Many fans were left wanting just a bit more and they may actually be getting just that as everyone seems up for another series return, but it’s just a case of scheduling it out first, which FOX are working on now.
“We would have liked to do more in the first place, but there were limitations, Gillian lives in the U.K. David in New York and Los Angeles. The show shoots in Vancouver. So it’s about coordinating a time when they can carve time to be in Vancouver. We’re in conversations where we can do more, I don’t see a full season of episodes, but I’d be happy to get 10 or 8 episodes.”
Fox Television Group Chairman and CEO Dana Walden threw the idea out there they’d like to do more episodes for another run, but she also gave some ideas as to what they won’t need to go about doing for round two.
“The show was off the air for a very long time. It was introduced to new viewers, and (the writers) had the challenge of filling in the mythology. Going forward, there won’t be the same obligation to reset the series.”
Seeing another return for X-FILES would be great as the movie route they’ve tried hasn’t quite worked out perfectly Fingers crossed we get another go round for another season, which may continue on from there.
