David Ayer Considered King Shark For SUICIDE SQUAD

SUICIDE SQUAD is a week away and it’s looking to be a pretty strong DC outing for the comic book characters. Director David Ayer recently revealed there’s one character he nearly included in the upcoming film but in the end opted not to.

Responding to fan questions on Twitter, Ayer revealed that he initially wanted King Shark in the film, but in the end didn’t include him. King Shark is exactly what you’d expect, a shark with legs and a huge monstrous shark head. The character has been an initial member of the New 52 SUICIDE SQUAD, but Ayer chose not to include the character, perhaps due to all the CGI needed to have the character in the film.

Instead, we’ll be seeing Killer Croc, played by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, with Ayer opting for makeup and prosthetics for a transformation rather than the CGI beast we might have seen. One thing is, we could still possibly see King Shark in a sequel if SUICIDE SQUAD lands well at the box office.

SUICIDE SQUAD is scheduled for a August 5 release.
