Something Lurks In The Woods In Netflix’s STRANGER THINGS Trailer

Set in a rural county during 1980’s America, Netflix’s Stranger Things is a love letter to all things Steven Spielberg and mid-80s Stephen King. The series’ first trailer has dropped ahead of the show’s premiere this summer.

Everything about this trailer oozes the unsettling familiarity of 1980’s pulp. From the Spielberg homages, the casting of Winona Ryder, and potential aliens lurking somewhere in the woods, Stranger THINGS is clearly designed to reflect a certain period of entertainment history.

Feel free to check the show’s official synopsis and creepy trailer below!

Set in Hawkins Indiana in the 1980’s, STRANGER THINGS chronicles the search for a young boy who vanishes into thin air under highly suspicious circumstances. His mother (Winona Ryder) opens an investigation into the boy’s disappearance with local authorities that unravels a series of mysteries involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl. A love letter to the ubiquitous cult classics of the 80’s, STRANGER THINGS is a coming of age story for three boys that draws this quaint community into a world where mysteries lurk beneath the surface.

Hailing from the brains of Matt and Ross Duffer, who directed last year’s HIDDEN and worked on WAYWARD PINES, STRANGER THINGS also stars Matthew Modine, Finn Wolfhard, Charlie Heaton, and Natalia Dyer. The shows initial eight episodes premiere on Netflix 15th July.
