Netflix has knocked out two shows with DAREDEVIL and JESSICA JONES with it’s Marvel world on the smalls screen, along with LUKE CAGE coming in September this year but we’re starting to ramp up on Danny Rand’s character series Iron Fist.
Finn Jones was recently announced as playing the role of Danny Rand aka Iron Fist, a Martial Arts Expert with an incredible power. Hailing from GAME OF THRONES, he won’t be the only person coming from there as we’ve got a second addition to the series in fellow actress Jessica Henwick, whom played Nymeria Sand in the series.
Fenwick will be playing Colleen Wing, a martial arts expert as well who runs her own dojo in New York and is an ally to our hero IRON FIST. Executive Producer of the series Scott Buck had some good words for Jessica playing the role:
“I’m very excited to have Jessica as our Colleen Wing, she’s shown us that she can bring both a sense of quiet strength as well as an engaging vulnerability to the character.”
Of course the series is still a little while away with no idea of a date and presuming it would hit in 2017 at some point. Head of Marvel TV chipped in on the casting as well:
“Jessica brings both a youthful vitality mixed with a strong sense of authority crucial to the character, and as anyone who’s seen her in ‘Game of Thrones’ can attest, she can throw down with the best of them, making her the perfect Colleen Wing.”
IRON FIST tells the story of Danny Rand, a kung-fu expert who fends off crime in New York City. With his kung-fu, he also has the power of his fiery IRON FIST. The next Netflix and Marvel series will be LUKE CAGE on September 30, while you can currently catch DAREDEVIL’s second season.
