We know he’ll be debuting in May’s CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR before going solo in Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios’ first collaboration, but we’ve heard little else on the Tom Holland’s interpretation of the friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man.
Well, that is until today with confirmation of the second cast member to join the superhero adventure being directed by CLOWN and COP CAR director Jon Watts.
Actress and singer Zendaya has landed a key role in the film that will arrive July 7, 2017, and which will see Holland as the younger version of the high-school superhero Peter Parker. She’s apparently playing a character named Michelle, which suggests she’s unlikely to be a love-interest unless the studios are keeping things under wraps to reveal her as Mary-Jane or Gwen Stacey at a later date.
Zendaya is best known for her work on the Disney Channel, starring in the hit tween series’ GOOD LUCK CHARLIE and SHAKE IT UP!
