If you thought Michael Bay’s over the top Transformers series would end soon, then guess again because you were very wrong. The robots in disguise series, which has raked in the money, will be getting a few more sequels.
Hasbro announced the robots will not just be returning for a fifth Film next year but also for a sixth and seventh film lined up as well. The next TRANSFORMERS film will again be directed by Bay with fourth film lead, Mark Wahlberg, also returning to lead.
Hasbro haven’t just announced plans for a sixth and seventh instalment, they’ve also released dates and a hint at what’s in store for the Sixth Film. It firstly looks like TRANSFORMERS will be heading annually, instead of the usual three year gap we’ve managed to have between films, as we see the sequels hit 2017, 2018 and 2019. To top it off, the sixth film won’t be a direct sequel, instead sounding like a spin-off prequel for character BUMBLEBEE.
“On June 8, 2018, a new film is being developed which will tell the never before heard story of Bumblebee, one of the most beloved characters from Hasbro’s Transformers universe”
Although mixing up the TRANSFORMERS formula with a prequel film sounds interesting, the series has instead now become a huge money making cash cow. Will you be watching the TRANSFORMERS sequels?
TRANSFORMERS 5 hits theatres June 23, 2017, while the sixth film hits June 8, 2018 and the seventh on June 28, 2019.
