If you’ve not seen Deadpool yet then go see it right now, but if you have then read on as it turns out the hilarious anti-hero actually had a very different set of villains for the original draft of the script.
Rhett Reese, writer of the DEADPOOL script, had a bigger picture it seems on the scale of budget as he actually out together a script putting together not just Ajax, the main villain, but also another three additions to that as well:
“We consolidated, in the first draft, Ajax has really three underlings. It was Wyre, it was Garrison Kane and it was Sluggo,” Reese revealed to CinemaBlend. “And then ultimately due to budget, we had to consolidate those into one character. And we wanted the movie to have a really strong kick-ass female presence. That was a mandate from Tim, so we introduced, we introduced Angel Dust as sort of a combination of those three to provide the muscle for Ajax.”
This would have been a very packed Film and thankfully they were dropped from the film as it could have easily become too much. The characters would have been an interesting addition with Wyre being a spiked character with tendrils causing some havoc on our beloved foul mouthed merc, while Sluggo plays out as a Weapon X invulnerable merc and Garrison Kane a cyborg who’d give Colossus a run for his money. It’s pretty good they came out with the bad looking Posh spice Angel Dust then instead.
DEADPOOL hit theatres today.
