Will Arnett seems to have really found a home for himself on Netflix, between ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT and BOJACK HORSEMAN both finding success on the streaming service. Arnett would seem to be continuing that partnership, particularly when it comes to shows about loveable losers struggling with their past, their tumultuous personal life, and where exactly they’re going in life. The first trailer for Arnett’s new Netflix-Exclusive series, FLAKED, was released today along with a new poster, both of which you can check out below.
This time around, Arnett is playing Chip, a Venice Beach Guru struggling with alcoholism, a rocky personal life and his own self-destructive tendencies. While this could have been played as a wacky comedy, FLAKED looks to be going the somewhat more serious route, definitely more dramedy than comedy.
The series was written by Arnett and Mark Chappell, who most recently penned THE INCREASINGLY POOR DECISIONS OF TODD MARGARET. If that doesn’t reassure you, ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT mastermind Mitch Hurwitz is serving as Executive Producer, and while it’s anyone’s guess how much input Hurwitz had on the series (trying to define an Executive Producer is like trying to define irony), his name will probably come as a draw for many potential bingers.
FLAKED premieres on Netflix March 11.
