Adding to the magnitude of Remy's victory is the fact that Nicki has been repeatedly accused of playing snitch: appealing to various authorities in an attempt to silence her rap rival.

Sources say Nicki began by reporting Remy for violating her parole (Ma just completed a seven-year sentence for shooting a member lf her entourage).

When that didn't work, she allegedly alerted the copyright police to a possible case of infringement.

"Shether" - the first track that Remy directed at Nicki - samples its beat from 2001's "Ether" a Nas diss track targeted at Jay-Z.

Industry insiders say Nicki blew the whistle on Remy, alerting Nas to a possible theft of intellectual property that he was probably already aware of.

If she really did make the call, it probably amounted to a favor request from a friend and former collaborator.

Apparently, Nas wasn't concerned about Remy's homage.
