Katheryn Winnick has started her behind-the-scenes work on HISTORY’s Vikings season 6 as a director.

Winnick will act as director for at least one episode in season 6 despite having little experience of doing this role. The actress has portrayed Lagertha on the historical drama since day one, and with many fans predicting an end to her character’s story in season 5B, could Winnick move behind-the-scenes completely? Lagertha could even be killed off the show by the time season 6 airs.

Season 6 of Vikings has an order of 20 episodes, which will be split into 10 episodes each, much like season 5 which is currently in its mid-season break.
