Fondly referred to as Bollywood’s Nawab, actor Saif Ali Khan has definitely come a long way in his career today. The actor had made his debut in films with late Yash Chopra’s film ‘Parampara’ (1993). Currently he is working on some interesting projects like the remake of Hollywood film ‘Chef’, ‘Kaalakaandi’, ‘Baazaar’ and his debut web series titled ‘Sacred Games’ which his fans are eagerly looking forward to.

When it comes to the selection of the script, Saif is one of the few actors in Bollywood who have been rather careful and choosy. Recently, we stumbled upon an old interview of the actor wherein he recalled the time when he admitted of being a nutcase. And the reason behind this was rejecting a role in filmmaker Karan Johar’s directorial debut ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’. Yes! You read that right.

Whenever we speak of the 90s in Bollywood, Karan Johar’s ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ will definitely be in the list of favourites. The film starred Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Rani Mukerji and child actor Sana Saeed playing pivotal roles. Not many would be aware that Saif Ali Khan was the first choice for the role of Aman Mehra played by Salman Khan. (Also Read: When Simi Garewal refused to do ‘Karz’ for over a year)

In his interview with a film magazine in the year 2001, the actor had opened up on his regret of having rejected this role. The actor said, “I have only one regret and that’s ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’… which I rejected. Really, I must have been a nutcase then.” [sic] Ultimately, the role was played by none other than superstar Salman Khan.

Well it is now difficult for us to imagine anyone but Salman Khan to play this role which left us surprised with his heart-touching performance, that even won him the prestigious Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor.
