Colonel Sun published [1968]

Colonel Sun became the first James Bond continuation novel when it was published on 28th March 1968.

The book was written by Kingsley Amis under the pseudonym Robert Markham.  Colonel Sun features the kidnapping of M, with much of the action takes place in the Greek islands. Although further novels by various authors were planned, each under the same pseudonym, Fleming’s widow, Ann, disliked Amis and decided against any further continuation novels.
