New To Netflix – June 2020

As May draws to a close, and after teasing some new additions on Twitter earlier this month, Netflix have finally announced the full list of what’s coming to their UK service in  June. If you want to see the full list, click here – we’re going to be picking some highlights.

TV picks

Lots of exciting new series coming to Netflix this month, particular new seasons of well-established Netflix Original shows. The fourth and final season of 13 Reasons Why is dropping on June 5th, and the second season of the Ryan Murphy-produced high school dramedy The Politician lands on June 19th. On the comedy side, the fourth season of Netflix’s animated comedy F is for Family will be released on June 12th, and the final run of Netflix’s Full House revival Fuller House is arriving on June 2nd.

There’s also Plenty of new shows arriving: first up is The Woods (June 12th), based on the novel by Harlan Coben, who also wrote The Stranger and Safe – so this is sure to be equally popular. Season 3 of the crime anthology series The Sinner is arriving on June 19th, having screened in America earlier this year. And if you’re looking for laidback reality TV, don’t forget that the first two seasons of Keeping Up with the Kardashians is landing on June 1st.

Film picks

There’s also plenty of great films heading to Netflix this month. Most exciting of all is the new Spike Lee joint Da 5 Bloods (June 12th) following a group of army vets as they head back to Vietnam to locate their former leader’s remains – which is sure to be a hard-hitting thrill ride. In terms of other Netflix Original films, there’s The Last Days of American Crime (June 5th), starring Edgar Ramirez as a criminal forced into one last big heist before new US anti-crime law makes his job untenable. Completely different to these two is the long-anticipated Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga (June 26th), starring Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams as Icelandic Eurovision contestants as they navigate their way through the famous singing contest.

In terms of other films, there’s plenty making their way to Netflix: Scarface (Date TBA), The Disaster Artist (June 9th) and No Country for Old Men (Date TBA) are just a few of the non-Netflix Original we’ll be able to stream soon, and recent releases such as 2019’s The Addams Family reboot (June 2nd) are also on their way.

There’s clearly plenty to look forward to on Netflix next month – but what are you most excited to watch? Be sure to let us know, and thanks for reading!
