Reports have KINGSMAN director Matthew Vaughn as being in early talks to direct a sequel to Superman flick MAN OF STEEL.

This one is very far from being official but Vaughn is being considered as the top choice for the film. Warner/DC, despite continuing with various other titles in the DCEU, have been committed to a return for Henry Cavill’s Superman in his own film. The character was “killed” at the end of BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE but the studio hasn’t exactly been discreet about the characters’ return for the upcoming JUSTICE LEAGUE.

Things could very easily fail to come together for this, Vaughn isn’t even at the stage where a deal is on the table, but it’s interesting to see where things could be going. Vaughn, meanwhile, has KINGSMAN sequel THE GOLDEN CRICLE arriving later this year and is working on spy film I AM PILGRIM as well as a bubbling FLASH GORDON reboot.
