Martin Scorsese’s latest feature, Silence, has already gained a reputation for a particularly taxing production that both he and Paramount will live-up to as the early awards buzz has the film as a top contender. The first trailer for the film has now arrived, along with a poster, see them both below.
Set in the seventeenth century, the film chronicles the true story of Jesuit missionaries in Japan. Specifically, Andrew Garfield and Adam Driver who seek an older priest (Liam Neeson) who has abandoned his faith. However, the journey is a dangerous one as they face a hostile and violent population in the non-Christian Japan.
SILENCE has a limited run in the US from December 23rd before it goes nationwide in January, along with its arrival in the UK on January 1st.
