Amazon Prime Video and Warner Bros. Oscar nominee billboards...

In a year like no other, this year's Academy Awards will be like no other too comprised of nominees from mainly streaming platforms.

Yesterday we shone an outdoor spotlight on 2021's Netflix Oscar nominee billboards and today it's the turn of Amazon Prime Video and Warner Bros. Pictures (who released their film via HBO Max and in some cinemas).
Last year the Borat Subsequent Moviefilm introduced America (and the world) to the Kazakhstanian's daughter (played by the breakout star and Oscar-nominated Maria Bakalova) and almost saved democracy in the process. This time around Sacha Baron Cohen's creation learned more about American culture, COVID-19 and U.S. elections.

Another Amazon Prime Video movie in the running this awards season is One Night in Miami, up for three Academy Awards.

Regina King makes her feature film directorial debut with this adaptation of Kemp Powers stage play of the same name about a fictional meeting between four Black icons, Malcolm X, Muhammad Ali, Jim Brown and Sam Cooke, at the Hampton House Motel.
The film is nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay for Kemp Powers, Best Supporting Actor for Leslie Odom Jr. for his portrayal of soul singer Sam Cooke and also for Best Original Song ("Speak Now" by Odom Jr. and Sam Ashworth).

Hearing-loss drama Sound of Metal is also nominated or six Oscars this season, about a heavy metal drummer and former drug addict who starts becoming deaf.

The film is nominated for Best Picture, Best Actor for Riz Ahmed, Best Supporting Actor for Paul Raci (who runs a center for deaf recovering addicts in the movie), Best Sound, Best Film Editing and Best Original Screenplay.

In the world of documentaries, Amazon's Time is competing with Crip Camp, My Octopus Teacher, Collective and The Mole Agent for Best Documentary Feature.

The film by Garrett Bradley follows Sibil Fox Richardson's 20-year battle to get parole for her husband, Rob, who is serving a 60-year prison sentence for an armed bank robbery.
This Academy Award nomination billboard for the black and white documentary was captured along West Hollywood's Sunset Strip on March 31, 2021.
Warner Bros. Pictures and director Shaka King's Judas and the Black Messiah is nominated for six Academy Awards this year.

Daniel Kaluuya is nominated for his portrayal of Black Panther Party Illinois chapter Chairman Fred Hampton and Lakeith Stanfield for his role as FBI informant and infiltrator, Bill O'Neal.
The film is also nominated for Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, Best Cinematography and Best Original Song for "Fight for You" for H.E.R., D'Mile and Tiara Thomas.

These Oscar nominee billboards were snapped along Sunset Boulevard and La Brea Avenue on March 31, 2021, and if you're a fan of the movie make sure you also check out these other Judas and the Black Messiah billboards.

Only time will let if any of these movies will be Oscar winners this Sunday (although they say to be nominated is reward enough).
