Konami Digital Entertainment have announced that Mesut Özil is to be the official ambassador for PES.
The German attacking midfielder joins the PES team as they launch the PES League: Road to Cardiff eSport tournament. Which just so happens to be the official eSports football tournament of the UEFA Champions League. The contest kicks off today, players on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 can take part via the Pes League mode in both PES 2017 and the free-to-play PES 2017 Trial Edition.
You’ll need to go to www.pesleague.com to sign up, and the winner stands to walk away with a rather cool $200,000.
Mr Özil is very please to be with Konami and they embark on the 2016/2017 PES League:
KONAMI has perfected the recreation of football at its highest level, and it is a great feeling to have been chosen as an Ambassador for this incredible series. I have been following PES for years. The series has improved with each year and it has always been among my favourite console games. No other game mimics the individuality of playing styles as PES 2017 does, with players capable of changing a game with one remarkable piece of skill. It is fantastic to see myself playing in the game as I do for Arsenal and Germany, and I am extremely excited to be part of this fantastic football project.
PES 2017 is available for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3 and PC. Dan reviewed the game back in September giving it a frankly brilliant 10/10. We love a bit of PES here and it’s a truly exceptional game.
